About
I qualified as a speech and language therapist from University College London in 1999 with a BSc (Hons), and I am a registered member of the Health Professions Council, the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists and the Association of Speech and Language therapists in Independent Practice.
Since 1999 I have worked with both the National Health Service and schools, providing assessment, diagnosis and therapy to children up to 16 years old. I have worked with children in clinics, mainstream nurseries, infant, junior and secondary schools, and schools for children with moderate learning difficulties. I have experience in providing therapy for articulation and phonology difficulties, language delay and disorder, and I specialise in helping children who stammer.
Specific professional training I’ve undertaken includes:
- Hanen – It takes two to talk (a parent and child interaction programme)
- Makaton (a signing system)
- Derbyshire Language Scheme (early language assessment a intervention)
- Lidcombe (Stammering intervention)
- Training by the Michael Palin Centre (Specialist Centre in Stammering)
- Solution Focused Brief Therapy (Counselling therapy)
- Selective Mutism – Assessment and Intervention
